Wow! Wakefest 2007 was amazing!
The weather was perfect, the tunes were rockin', the food was great, the river was smooth, the local constables were super cool, tons of people came out and everyone had a great time!
All of New Jersey's primary pro shops were on-hand to support Wakefest.
Ron & Ryan from San Bar Marina in Lake Hopatcong brought three Malibu Boats, a ton of gear, a big crew all dressed in stylish black San Bar t-shirts, and they totally bank-rolled the post-wakefest premiere of Transgression.
Craig & Bailey from Surf & Offshore in Point Pleasant Beach were there giving Wakefest goers the lowest prices in the universe on wakeboarding gear, plus they brought-along regional reps Jeff Aitken from Hyperlite who brought his 2007 Nautique and Bruce from Liquid Force who brought his easy-up LF canopy and tons LF demo gear.
Island Surf & Sail in Brant Beach sent a couple of crew members to Wakefest, and they brought the ISS winch and a rep from Slingshot Wakeboards who donated a totally cool Slingshot board and bindings which was later raffled-off! ISS also provided Wakefest with its PA system.
Louie from Off Shore Marine in Branchville brought a couple of brand New Nautiques and set-up an excellent display area. Rumor has it that regional Correct Craft rep Bob Greenwood was milling around too!
Pro riders Brett Eisenhauer and Randall Harris were on hand for amazing demo rides and to hang with the crowd all day, and mega talented film maker Ronn Seidenglanz was there with his super-talented photographer wife Dorothee.
Jeff Barton was on the mic all day keeping the crowd pumped-up, Karen, Micah, Brian and Kevin masterfully worked food services all day, while Doreen, Michele, Annette and my crazy sister Cheryl worked the main tent.
Red Bull rep Keith Wescott was at Wakefest, and he brought not one, but TWO strings of super energetic MET girls and they gave everyone at Wakefest wings with plenty of ice cold Red Bull. It was a beautiful thing!
Brian Cree from Waterways in Ocean City, MD made the trip up I-95 north with his crew, his boat and a winch! The Waterways crew are true wakeboarding enthusiasts and it was great to see them take such a long road trip just to be a part of the whole Wakefest happening. Don't worry Brian, I'll eventually get around to mailing you some shirts!
Wakefest rocked until around 5:00pm, and then the party moved across town to The Bordentown Ramada where Ronn Seidenglanz premiered Transgression for the very first time! Wow! Following the premiere celebrations happened all over The Ramada, well into the wee hours.
Yes friends, The 2007 New Jersey Wakefest was excellent!
See you all in 2008, Alex
